Creamy Jalapeño Sauce, Taco Bell Quesadilla Sauce, Taco-bell-Copycat-Recipe

This was one of my first attempts to the Taco Bell’s quesadilla sauce also called “Creamy Jalapeño Sauce”! Within time I created one of the closest COPYCATS to the creamy jalapeño sauce, just like TACO BELL’S

With my first attempts in creating Taco Bell’s Creamy Jalapeño Sauce, I came to this version. However, I wasn’t quite thrilled. I had more ideas on my back burner and was thinking to recreate the recipe sometime later. One day it came to reality and I picked up some of the sauces through a drive thru and decided to play around with the flavors until I got it! I experimented the more to perfect the flavor and couldn’t be more thrilled with the new version! I left this one in my collection since it was one of my first attempts and since some liked this version. However if you want the real deal you need to check out my newer post on the creamy jalapeño sauce!

Use this sauce to make Taco Bell’s chicken quesadillas and make things even more homemade by making Grilled & Ready to use Chicken Breast Strips.

You meant to use just two single peppers, right? Not the whole 7 oz can?

      • Alyona’s Cooking

Yes, that would be 2 pickled peppers from the jar not the whole can. Also I have a new updated recipe I experimented with to perfect the sauce even more so be sure to check that out.

Tastes nothing like the real sauce 🙁

I have been working on a completely different formula to recreate the creamy Jalapeño sauce using fresh jalapeños and ranch dressing and I will be posting a new post for that please give the new one a chance I think it’s much closer as I literally tested it side by side with the taco bells version.

      • Alyona’s Cooking

Thank you for the feedback Sherri, I would still like to improve the recipe one day with compromising on some ingredients so stay tuned because I may just come to something better.

Here’s the thing, I love Tacobells Creamy Jalapeno Sauce, but I despise sour cream. I just want to make sure with you that it tastes like Tacobell’s Creamy Jalapeno Sauce.

The type of vinegar should be stated. ‘Regular distilled’ does that mean white distilled vinegar? There are so many different types of vinegar, red wine, balsamic, Apple cider vinegar, I have a peach I use in Salad dressing. A beginning cook might not know what regular is. My 14 year old daughter is learning to cook and would need help. ?

I apologize for the unclear term, distilled white vinegar 5% acidity would be the vinegar. I usually write vinegar if I’m using distilled unless otherwise specified for another kind of vinegar.

This sauce was good as a quesadilla sauce, but I didnt think it tasted like taco bell creamy jalapeno and I used to work there so I could tell the difference pretty well as it was my favorite. I even tried using extra jalepenos. But if we’re not comparing the two it was still good.

      • Alyona’s Cooking

Hi Courtney, extra jalapenos will definitely give the sauce a more canned/pickled flavor. Although this recipe isn’t perfected it could use some tweaks so you are welcome to experiment and get back with any results.

Getting ready to make this, just one question. Did you use the jalapeno juice?

      • Alyona’s Cooking

      Nope just add the jalapeno’s

    • Byrd

    What kind of mayo?

      • Alyona’s Cooking

      Any brand should work…

    • Sarah

This is amazing! It’s the main reason I go to Taco Bell so I’m happy I can make this at home and save $$$. In your opinion, how long can this last in the fridge?

      • Alyona’s Cooking

I would give it about a week or two max, if your sour cream doesn’t expire within that time range.
