Fluffy Cinnamon Rolls

This is a fluffy cinnamon rolls recipe that hasn't failed me ever since I started making it. An easy to work with dough is smothered in butter and sprinkled with a sweet sugar mix then rolled and baked into the most amazing and Fluffy Cinnamon Rolls!


Cinnamon rolls dough:

  • 2 1/2 tsp dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup hot milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 5 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

Cinnamon Sugar Spread:

  • 1 stick butter softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Easy Glaze:

  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 7 tbsp water


  • Dissolve the yeast in warm water and set aside.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, whisk together the hot milk, sugar, melted butter, salt and egg.
  • Add 2 cups of flour and the yeast mixture; knead over low speed adding remaining flour until dough comes together. Then knead dough over medium speed for 5 minutes.
  • Cover dough and allow to rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour.)
  • Whisk together the filling ingredients (sugars, cinnamon and raisins) and set aside.
  • When dough has doubled in size roll out into a 15 by 9-inch rectangle. Spread softened butter over the rectangle and sprinkle completely with the filling mixture (leaving a little border on one end of the long side, for sealing roll.)
  • Starting at the 15-inch side, roll dough and pinch edge together to seal roll.
  • Cut log into 12 even slices and place onto a greased baking dish (coated with cooking spray.) Let dough rise until doubled in size and touching each other (about 1 hr.)
  • Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven until golden. Prepare the glaze by stirring together the powdered sugar and water until smooth. Spread over warm rolls.
