Pancake Mix Recipe (Make-Ahead Dry Mix)

This homemade Pancake Mix (coming from an Amish cookbook) is a time saver in the mornings for those days you need to serve breakfast but with about half the prep already done!

  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 heaping cup sugar
  • 2 cups dry milk
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/3 heaping cup baking powder
  • Dry milk can be omitted if milk is used in place of the water.


  • Mix well and store in a gallon zip-loc bag.
  • To prepare: Whisk together 1 1/2 cups of dry mix, 1 egg, 1 cup of water and 2 tbsp of oil. Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto pre-heated skillet. Cook over low heat on each side until done.
