Whether you call these Salmon Burgers or salmon patties, these handmade fish patties are made from fresh chunky pieces of salmon and in this case used for burgers. Made from a simple mixture these salmon burgers come together quick and are sandwiched between buns, cheese and a quick and easy tarter sauce made from scratch.
Ingredients
1lbfresh salmon
2TBSPmayo
1tspmustard
1/2tspsalt & 1/4 tsp pepper
2dinner rollsbroken up into pieces
2TBSPfreshly chopped Cilantro or parsley
1egg
6buns & 6 Slices of American Cheese
Quick TARTER SAUCE:
1/2cupmayo
3TBSPsweet relish
1tspvinegar
1/2tspwhole-grain mustard
salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat grill to high heat.
Combine all the patty ingredients except for the fish and let the bread soak up and soften.
Meanwhile cut the fish into small chunks and add to the mixture. Form into 6 patties.
Place patties onto lightly greased grill grates and reduce heat to medium. Grill 3 minutes on each side.
TO MAKE THE TARTER SAUCE: Whisk all the tarter sauce ingredients together. Spread a tablespoon of tarter sauce over the tops of the buns and assemble the burgers in the following order: bottom of bun, patty, slice of American cheese, top bun (with tarter sauce.)
