M&M Cookies (Bakery Style Grocery-Store Copycat)

Ingredients
- 1 stick of butter, unsalted
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- dash of salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3.5 ounce pkg of vanilla pudding mix or white chocolate pudding mix
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 2/3 cups m&m's plus more for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl beat the butter, shortening, sugars, egg, vanilla and salt until creamy.
- Stir together the flour, dry pudding mix, and baking soda. Add to the creamed butter mixture and beat over low speed until well combined. Stir in the chocolate chips and m&m's.
- Scoop dough into 1-inch balls and lightly flatten tops. Bake in a pre-heated 375° oven for 10 minutes.
- Flatten the tops of the cookies by lightly patting each cookie with an oven mitten. Quickly insert 3-4 m&m's into each cookie and completely cool.
