These oatmeal raisin cookies are soft, chewy, and super delicious! Made from old-fashioned oats and with an applesauce soaking technique to get super flavorful and plump raisins! No chilling, molasses, or hard-to-find ingredients! Serve with a glass of milk and enjoy our Homemade oatmeal cookies!
How To Make Soft and Chewy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies:
Preheat oven to 375°F.
In a Microwave safe bowl stir together the applesauce and raisins. Microwave for 2 minutes and set aside.
Beat the butter and sugars for 2 minutes until fluffy. Mix in eggs. Add the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, and oats then beat well. Beat in the raisin mixture and scoop dough onto a cookie sheet using a 1 1/2" cookie scoop.
Bake for 11 minutes on the bottom rack.
Notes
Note: Can use any flavored apple sauce or hot water to soften the raisins.
Quick butter softening tip: microwave butter 5 seconds on each side for 30 seconds to bring to room temp quickly!
This recipe makes large cookies.
