Melt the cheese over low heat in a small saucepan.
Evenly divide the crescent dough into 3 equal pieces. Roll out each piece into a 13-inch circle.
Transfer one piece onto a foiled-lined pizza pan. Spread with 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce, leaving a small border, and top with 1/4 cup of melted cheese and 1/4 cup of bacon.
Repeat once more for the second layer ending with the third piece of dough on top.
Pinch edges together to seal the filling. Cut 9 strips around the edge about 3-inches deep.
Twist each strip twice and bake in a pre-heated 400°F oven for 20-25 minutes.
Notes
Velveeta Substitute: melt 4 oz of American cheese slices with 1/4 cup of cream or milk.
This Homemade Crescent dough makes just enough dough for this pizza twist.
