This EASY Hollandaise sauce is made in the microwave and is the fastest homemade Hollandaise sauce to make from scratch! Quick and Easy!
I have tried many recipes and seemed to have always tasted a distinct lemony flavor, that was just not doing it for me. It was too over powering and my search was on. I’ve done research and looked at mock Hollandaise sauces and decided to skip the lemon all together and use vinegar instead. It’s all done in the microwave and tastes AMAZING! I love this recipe! Serve over poached eggs and have yourself a merry breakfast!
Ingredients:
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1/8 tsp dijon mustard
- salt & cayenne pepper to taste
How to Make Easy Hollandaise Sauce Step-by-Step :
1. Melt butter in the microwave (about 30 sec.) Stir in egg yolk then add the vinegar and cream and stir until well combined.
2. Microwave up to one minute until mixture thickens, checking and stirring every 15 seconds.
3. If your mixture curdles like this, no problem just keep on whisking until it gets smooth.
4. Whisk in mustard and salt. Garnish sauce with cayenne pepper before serving.
Note: If you prefer a thinner hollandaise sauce just add 1 tbsp of melted butter and smooth out. You can also reheat this hollandaise sauce.
