Venison Recipes
Most beef recipes can be easily converted to venison recipes! Venison is considered to be leaner wild game than beef. My husband goes hunting every year to stock up our freezers with free deer meat! And it’s way easier to process than a whole cow!
We love to make deer jerky and tender steaks from the back straps (the tender loin found in the back of deer). The rest of the deer meat either gets ground or chunked for stews and pilafs. I also make canned venison that I can open and serve with egg noodles. Venison recipes are easy to prepare if you have canned meat or ground the meat in advance. My advice to you if you start hunting, is to invest in a high-quality meat grinder and 1-pound meat bags (they thaw easier).
