Rice & Grains Recipes

Here are delicious ways to add whole grains and rice to your diet for extra fiber. Ukrainians eat lots of buckwheat, millet, and rice. Growing up in the United States, I became accustomed to white rice. However, now, that I know better, I mainly cook with brown rice, oats, and barley. If you’re looking for whole grain recipes using wheat berries check out my fresh milled flour category where I share mainly baked goods. This category (grains & rice) is more focused on rice, oats, and such grains to cook with or make snacks with. You know, the grains sitting in bags that you don’t know what to do with?

Grains and rice store well if you keep them in airtight containers or buckets with a few oxogen absorbers. I still like to stock my pantry with jasmine or basmati rice. That is because refined grains like white rice, store for longer. Short-grain rice is more ideal for Sushi recipes or Cabbage Rolls. I hope to spark some new ideas for using whole grains or rice.
