Sourdough Recipes

These are the sourdough recipes that work for me. Sourdough baking is a traditional method our ancestors used for hundreds of years! In fact, the way our Ukrainian parents preserved sourdough starer (there were no fridges back in the old days) was to gather the dough from the sides of their bowls when making bread. They would then lump those dough scraps together and cover it with flour. That was how they maintained their starter.

Today, with modern sourdough baking, I’m able to feed my starter in bulk and make all of my favorite sourdough recipes whenever I wish. Usually, this is once a week where I batch bake my favorite sourdough breads. This is my favorite sourdough bread recipe made with fresh milled flour! Occasionally, I will make make-ahead breakfast like overnight Sourdough Pancakes, or Biscuits. Sourdough can be simple and actually suits my busy schedule better than using commercial yeast. You’ll find that each recipe includes easy baking instructions along with step-by-step photos. We also sell fresh sourdough starter for locals who are starting off on their sourdough journey! Any sourdough recipe that you’ll find here, was kitchen-tested and approved by Chef Alyona.
