Freshly Milled Flour Recipes

Freshly milled flour recipes are my favorite! We love real bread, made with fresh, home-ground flour. Freshly ground whole grain flour is delicious, wholesome, and so satisfying! It’s a big part of our families diet! The benefits of fresh milled flour is what motivates me to keep on milling my own flour at home.

I use my electric grain mill to make 100% whole wheat flour. I also stock up on hard white, hard red, and soft white wheat for all my baking needs. These are all the whole grains you need to get started on making whole wheat flour at home. We use soft white wheat (lower in gluten) for all dessert or quick bread recipes and hard wheat varieties (higher in protein) when baking with yeast or sourdough bread. Incorporating fresh milled flour is a big priority at our farmhouse. All of our freshly milled whole grain recipes were kitchen-tested and compiled by Chef Alyona.
