Vegetarian Recipes
Vegetarian dishes are simply the ones made without meat. You can still make hearty meals using beans and vegetables from the garden. This is not to confuse with Vegan cuisine, that’s a whole other sphere.
As a chef we needed to know all the alternative diets to create nutritious meals to accommodate all guests. There are 3 types of vegetarianism:
Lacto vegetarians who eat dairy but don’t eat eggs.
Ovo vegetarians, do eat eggs but not dairy products
Lacto-ovo vegetarians eat both, dairy and eggs.
Wherever you hold your vegetarian ground, it’s important to eat foods rich in protein, iron, and vitamin B12 to make up for the lack of those animal products. Thankfully, vegetarian recipes don’t have to be boring. You can still eat whole grains, rice, beans, vegetable stew, and pasta!
