This breakfast sausage gravy pairs so well with homemade biscuits creating one hearty and delicious breakfast known as Biscuits and gravy.

If you haven’t made freezer biscuits before you need to! Making gravy is easy especially when your biscuits are made before-hand. Breakfast sausage is a must and most generic brands should work. Lately I’ve been dividing a 1 lb sausage roll into pieces, storing them in little snack baggies. One little portion makes enough for an add-on to a quiche pie (you only need a little handful for flavor.) And you could even get away with 1/2 a log of sausage for the gravy (a whole log is really unnecessary, unless you want to use it up.) This is my go-to breakfast gravy recipe for biscuits–it’s quick and delicious and could even be frozen if you have leftovers!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb breakfast pork sausage
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

1. Crumble sausage in skillet over medium-high heat. When sausage is almost done cooking through stir in the flour.

2. Pour in milk and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat and allow to simmer until thickened. Add in the salt and pepper and ladle gravy over a split biscuit.
