Avocados have never tasted better! This avocado spread has only 3 ingredients and takes as quick as mashing one, to make. Tasty enough for a dip, spread, snack and easy appetizer! My favorite way to eat avocados!

I was not an avocado fan or avocado toast kinda person. Avocados just tended to be too bland and not that good tasting unless it was a guacamole dip. Lemon juice seemed to be over-powering and some simple spices just didn’t cut it for me. It wasn’t until one morning when I threw together some vinegar (works as the acidic agent to prevent browning) and the everything bagel seasoning that this happened to be. Total game changer! I can actually eat this stuff by the spoon and on plain toast! I love it so much I even brought this to a gathering as a dip with pita chips and was commented on how good it tasted! The BEST avocado spread or dip if you wish!

What to eat Avocado toast with?

This spread is good enough on it’s own, it’s that tasty! However spreading it on toast and topping it with some veggies or cooked eggs can all make for some tasty ideas.

Toppings for avocado toast sandwiches:

  • hard boiled eggs
  • cooked egg
  • cucumber slices
  • tomato slices
  • radishes
  • fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley
  • diced onion peices
  • turkey or chicken patty
  • slice of ham
  • some more of everything bagel seasoning

Ingredients for avocado spread:

How long will avocado spread last?

This spread keeps its color for about 2 days until slight browning occurs. Keep it covered and refrigerated at all times before serving to ensure freshness.

What’s the difference between avocado spread and guacamole?

An avocado spread is a plain basic spread that usually consists of spices and perhaps some acidic substance like lemon juice or in my case vinegar. Guacamole is dressed up with fresh herbs and veggies.

4 ways to serve avocado spread-

  • dip
  • snack (with celery or something crunchy)
  • appetizer
  • spread over toast

How to ripen avocados:

Only soft ripened avocados make for the best guacamole or spread. Very firm avocados won’t mash and the best way to ripen them is to simply leave them out by a window or warm place for a couple days.

How to make avocado spread:

  • Mash a ripened avocado with vinegar and everything bagel seasoning.
  • Keep covered and refrigerated until serving.

This looks great! How long do you think this spread would last in the fridge?

Hi Carol, for best results keep covered for up-to 2 days anything more will probably turn brown.
