Homemade bisquick is such a handy all-purpose baking mix to have on hand! It makes the perfect substitute when you run out or the perfect batch when you prefer homemade!

Pancakes, biscuits and waffles aren’t the only recipes you can whip up using Bisquick. This all-purpose mix can make dumplings, the best breading for chicken, coffee cakes, quiche pies, strawberry shortcakes and so much more! One of my favorite recipes using bisquick is this Cheesy egg bake and these Asian chicken fingers. I’ve also discovered it makes the perfect breading for country fried chicken and what better way to enjoy it then when it’s homemade? This baking mix is a staple and makes the perfect copycat!

This is one of my favorites. I use alot of Bisquick, now i don’t have to worry about the cost. Hay, don’t say anything but, this one tastes better anyway. Thank you very much.

Can you substitute the shortening and if so can it be left in a cool place still.

Hi Sandra, I’d opt for fat that has a long shelf life like lard or shortening. Butter and Margarine on the other hand require refrigeration so not sure how that will work.
