Learn how to cook rice perfectly, every time with this easy 4 ingredient recipe! No special skills or equipment needed just a good old basic recipe!

You won’t read, “how to cook this rice” at the back of a rice box but I guarantee you this rice works and tastes delicious! The lady who shared this recipe, even had it sticked inside her cupboard door so you know it must be good! I could imagine cooking this rice over a crock pot, instant pot and in the oven to all be successful ways in bringing this rice together but this is how to cook rice in a plain pot. I love that it’s not mushy or too grainy, just perfect!

The 3 different rice groups-

  • Long-grain White Rice- commonly used for side dishes, pilafs, salads and on it’s own.
  • Short grain White Rice- typically used in sushi, risotto and for sticky rice.
  • Brown Rice- healthier option since the bran and germ is not stripped away like in white rice. Has more fiber, iron and vitamin B.

Cook Time & Ratio for making rice:

  • Cooking rice too short = hard rice.
  • Cooking rice to long = mushy rice.
  • Too much liquid = wet and mushy rice.
  • Too little liquid = undercooked and hard rice.
