Unos Shrimp Crab Dip Recipe
The love for this hot shrimp dip began when a group of us ordered this Shrimp and Crab dip from Uno’s. I loved it so much I wanted to recreate it at home. I made this shrimp dip recipe to the best of my dining experience and can gladly report that it is amazing!
If you’ve never had Uno’s appetizer, I can tell you now, this is the only way I make a shrimp dip, period. It’s easy to make and you can use raw or cooked shrimp. Now, if you’re looking for a stuffed shrimp appetizer this one is the only one to have with a melted butter sauce (yum!)
I typically omit the crab meat to make a quick appetizer as I can throw frozen shrimp into a bowl to quickly thaw. Besides, I’m likely to have lump crab meat and my husband is opposed to imitation crab meat. So, I simply omit it for this recipe, but, seafood lovers can add 2 oz of crab meat to the shrimp dip.
A hot shrimp dip can be made with either raw or already cooked pink shrimp since it will be baked. Shrimp can cook in minutes and this shrimp dip bakes within 15 minutes, giving it enough time to cook thoroughly. To infuse a shrimp dip with the most flavor, I recommend large raw shrimp that you can dice and chunk quickly. However, small pink shrimp will work great too! Raw shrimp can flavor the cheeses and cream like a shrimp broth, which is why it’s best to cook shrimp meat rather than using canned shrimp. Completely thaw the shrimp before beginning. Note: always pat dry the raw shrimp before baking to avoid a watery dip. Don’t overbake the dip. This shrimp dip is with cream cheese and makes a quick snack or appetizer for any occasion. It is not a cold shrimp dip and doesn’t require sour cream. Here are the ingredients: Leftover shrimp dip can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat leftovers on a stove or reheat in the oven or microwave, stirring occasionally. Hot dips go with crunchy baguette slices or crackers. Here are some dipping options: Q&A
